Facts

No, I don’t respect Hizbulla… not even with the big role he played in the liberation of southern Lebanon, because I know exactly how Hizbulla was turned into the only “Resistance” power in the south.. and how Syrians prosecuted and repressed other groups [mainly leftist and national groups]… I know ppl who got arrested by the syrians on their way back from an operation in the south.. so NO, I don’t respect Hizbulla, the same party that used to pour bears on those who dare to order them in West Beirut!

No, I don’t feel any kind of sympathy with palestinian factions in Lebanon… No, u don’t have the least right to carry arms, because the only ppl u’ll be shooting are the Lebanese, so NO, Don’t consider it ur home…

No, I do not respect Junblatt, Aoun, Jajaa, Nasrallah, Berri… I will never respect warlords…

I do believe everything Junblatt, Hariri Jr. said and will say about the Syrian regime, I beleive everything Aoun used to say about the regime..

I do believe everything the Syrian regime said and will say about Junblatt, Hariri Jr. I believe everything they used to say about Aoun..

I believe everything they both say about eachother… because they both have done even worse things!!

    hello yazan..”no sympathy with palestinian factions in lebanon” have you seen how they live???for gods sake palestinians in lebanon are not even allowed to work…most of their camps don’t have proper, water or even in some cases electricity…apparently the cost of operating one light bulb in hariri’s solidaire is the same as lighting one whole street in beirut’s palestinian camps…no sympathy???

    I beleive in one thing only these days, I beleive in the people.

  4. Yazan Says:

    @Maya… Maya, read the post.. I said palestinian FACTIONS i.e. organizations with arms that call themselves resistance while they’re really just militia that’s no different [to me] than mafia, in a country that the least turbulance can cause a civil war! does that answer ur question?! ;)

    I know the under-humane circumstances for palestinians in Lebanon, but that’s a different issue… that does not IN ANY WAY legalize these Militias.. and that’s what I was referring to, in a VERY clear way!! ;)

  5. Abu Takla Says:

    Very well-said Yazan, and very true;

    sinan: a very big disappointment is waiting you around the corner… hope I will be wrong, but having faith in uneducated, sectarian, or tribal “people” can be heart-breaking :-)

  6. Sinan Says:

    Abu Takla: Oh I agree :) and I am not expecting much either, but let’s say I beleive they have the power, and I’d like to beleive that someday they’ll do the right thing, otherwise I better lock myself in my home and forget I ever existed. :)

  7. Ihsan Says:

    Fair enough Yazan, well put!

    Factions or not.. Palestinians in Lebanon are deprived of the least civil rights.

    And what is IT when you say “don’t consider it your home” ?

    Lebanon? the camps? And what is that “home” you’re talking about?

  12. Yazan Says:

    @Amal..
    Read the comments…
    They are deprived of their least human rights… so?! is that an excuse for the illegal militia?!!! I was VERY specific in my words..

    Lebanon… it’s not their home, and the “Militia” are acting as if it is…

  13. Amal Says:

    Looks like you are always SPECIFIC in everything you say.

    Well, you are right, Lebanon is not the Palestinians home. But I do not think that any Palestinian is waiting for someone to remind him that it’s NOt home.

    There’s only one home for Palestinians. Palestine.

    Anything but that is simply temporary.

    Please always keep the fact that you are but a distant watcher of what’s going on in Lebanon in mind.

    And mind you, had there been any consideration of the least civil rights of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, a lot of this insanity going around today would have been avoided.

    After all , whenever the human rights issue is brought up , many Lebanese stop at the point of the Palestinian- Lebanese “past”, neglecting the present and thus the future.

    It’s like no Lebanese ever shot his Lebanese brother.

    We have to get rid of this tribal fanaticism!

  14. Yazan Says:

    @Amal,,
    although I didn’t really appreciate the sarcasm smell in ur comment..
    but I’m glad that we agree on most of the stuff!!!

    Illegal Militia is NOT an option for a country that wants to rebuild…
    Human Rights issues CAN NOT be persuaded that way…

    In the international law, they have the right to treat palestinians as no more than refugees.. ;)
    I’m not saying I morally agree with it… I don’t… but they need to speak to the WORLD instead of destabalizing Lebanon..

    I do not defend politicians of Lebanon [read the post]… but I defend the sovereignty of Lebanon..
