This is APPAULING.
Not one of the MANY people who disagreed with me over the years about almost anything, even dared to question my love for this land, and the motives behind my opinions.
Ignorance, is Appauling.
I’m too sick to my stomach to actually reply to that.

don’t give it too much thought.. I read the comments and it’s clear these poeple don’t know what it’s like.
Btw if you were american and you made the same arguments about the american army. people would call you unpatriotic, and that you don’t support the troops.
The poeple who know you, know how much you love Syria, and that’s all that matters

y3ni excuse me ya yazan, what did u expect them to reply u? one is talking so proudly about his country and his president and u come and say “all what u belive in is not even there” i find his reaction is quiet normal, u should have expected this.

sorry , don’t know why i left this,
i’ll mind my business next time
June 4th, 2006 at 12:12 pm
no one
ur welcome to say anything.
but, I’m speaking facts for god sake, when did facts stop to matter?
And WHO SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT THE COUNTRY?
What, this president does not represent my country, not in a million years. it would be too sad if he did.

Can’t you just get used to it Yaz ?
everytime you argue with a non-syrian they make you feel this way .
it’s because they don’t understand .. they don’t live in syria they don’t feel the daily humilation , they don’t feel the fear
forgive them yaz for they know not what they say
it’s easier for me to argue with “ahl el balad” . because when they disagree with you , you know that this disagreement is a product of fear.

waw.. moukhabarat and paid commenters found their way to blogworld? those guys are catching up quickly
don’t pay attention to such people yazan.. and remember the HMV (his master’s voice) blog you were commenting on.. what did you expect?
one thing I have to say though..
Patriotism can take so many different forms and shapes, and I know many people who actually can’t stand listening to any critique against their country in the name of patriotism, be it a justified comment or not.. idiotic.. but real.. but of course.. no one has the right to accuse anyone of not being a patriot for presenting different views and opinions (isn’t that how Michel Kilo was arrested?)..
but man.. you have a talent in getting into fights with people.. you beat me.. lol..
June 4th, 2006 at 2:37 pm
Patriotism could cause narrow-mindness as much as religion does. It’s so easy to refuse other views and opinion even without thinking about them, but it’s even much easier to accuse other of blasphemy and anti-patriotism.
Why do u seem to be surprised?
June 5th, 2006 at 3:48 am
I agree with Ihsan
Patriotism has so much in common with religion. And both, however unlikly it seems, ar losing out to the new global realities.

why do you always have to(nasher ghasilna elwsekh)?? just deal with the fact and eccept it cuz you know how things work here and you know that no matter what you do this will never change.
hey maybe you don’t like the guy but don’t tell me that he’s not cute….’_'hehehe
we all know that you love Syria more that anything but talking like that will never change a thing.

@anonymous
and pretending that there is nothing wrong will not change a thing too.. it will only make things worse as it will make things go on the way they are with the assumption that nothing is wrong.
I understand that we are “3am nenshor ghaseelna el wesekh” by that.. but it is time that someone does a reverse propraganda to negate the fake reality these HMV blogs are creating.
I think that what Yazan is doing deserve all the respect we can give him.. let this lazy world know that there are other shades of grey in Syria.. not only black and white.. we’vre lived in black and white for long long times (when we were “Kal3et al somood wa al tasaddi”) and now.. speaking against the main stream should not be considered wrong anymore…
we always studied that Democracy is the main chcracteristic of the social society we have in Syria..
well.. freedom of speech is on manifestation of democracy.. and people should understand that..
and no.. there is no “right time” to speak and “right time” to shut up.. all times are good times when it comes to saying the right thing.

ok Omar!! who said that i don’t respect what yaz is doing?!..
it’s just that it doesn’t work like that. hey i’m Syrian-Armenian and do know what it means that you are seeking something that means the world to and you can’t acheive it cuz there are more powerful forces than you trying to stop you.
i hope you understand it
