An Advice
My father’s last advice before I left home was,
Never trust a man that does not dance, or a woman that does not laugh.

… and don’t trust a woman who laughs too much either.
In the West they say: don’t trust someone who does not drink, but there I take exception since I have come to like dealing with sober people here in Syria.
It is so good to be able to roam syriabloggerland again !

It is so true Yazan. Even in animals’ kingdom, species with tendency to dance are more trustable.
The lyrics for Lee Ann Womack’s song, I hope you dance, have more to it on your dad’s advice.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you’ll give fate the fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

Trust aside, these kind of people make for very boring companions! Yazan, I enjoy your posts tremendously.

Annie,
It’s good to have you back.
Sober people are not always those who dont drink, and drunks are not always those who do. ;)

Not fair!
There are many reasons why some of us do not dance :)
I dance not more than few times a year .. half of them by force .. like at my best friend’s wedding when I was forced to join the other 20 people on stage to dance to some Arabic tune … I was so bad that the wedding videographer asked me to move to the side of the group away from his camera’s range!
But I play music!… would that do? :)
Actually this is the exact reason I don’t dance too well … I can’t ignore any of the musical instruments playing and concentrate ONLY on the simple beat .. and when I follow the keyboards or Bass line… it is over… no more timing… the feet do not know what to do next.
That’s all! … you can still trust me.
