In Memory of Death

In memory of Ali Shafey el-Moussawi,

An Iraqi blogger, killed, 31 bullets between the chest and the head. 31 bullets in the face of humanity.

His father and brother were killed in a bombing two years ago, what’s left of his family is his sister and mother.

How can you reflect on that, what possible words can you write about it.

What pain is it that you struggle to describe, what kind of helplessness, surrender and utter dispair do you feel, towards this kind of cruelty.

I can handle the cruelty of Death, but the cruelty of humans leaves me in pieces, everytime.

I wonder about people who do these things. Jacques Verges comes to mind and what he said to Klaus Barbie (accused of working in a Nazi concentration camp), “you are neither a monster nor evil, simply a product of your times”.

the americans gave iraq to the iranian trained militias because they are aware of their hatred toward iraqi population, now the iranian vavak and the mossad have finished with the doctors, university professors and generals are now attacking the enlightened youth…they want them to be like sheeps.

It shakes me to the core how humans can be alive one second and the other, they’re gone. But, what saddens me more is for a 23 year old to go in such horrendous circumstances.
