Hewar in Kyoto

Kinan Azmeh and Issam Rafea – Dance

A crazy cycle of Sushi, Sake, Music and Sleep deprivation would be the only way to describe those 3 days spent in Kyoto. Rushing out from one taxi to the other, from one temple to the other, and from one sushi joint to the next. Leaving stuffed up with food, images, and the sound of 3 syrians laughing disturbingly [as we'd find out later] out loud.

Excellent rendition of Ghanim Haddad’s “Raq9at Al-’3ajariya”! Do Kinan and Isaam perform in Japan regularly or were they just visiting?

  6. Yazan Says:

    Hala Hasan,

This was their first time. But in this visit they recorded [The whole band of Hewar, not just Kinan and Issam] an album in collaboration with a japanese band [Aramaki] so they will be coming next December to promote the album launch and have a more extensive tour around Japan.

They did a pretty big concert in Tokyo.

    Ah! I wish I knew!!!
