حكمة اليوم
As I was extinguishing my cigarette 5 minutes ago, I noticed that I had accidentally burnt an ant that made its way to the ashtray. The whole thing sent shivers through my spine and my first thought was that, If God does intend to literally burn people in hell then he’s a sick, sick bastard. And I would rather suffer the wrath of a sick bastard than to actually worship one.

i think if God didn’t burn all those who enjoy burning our lives , since the humanity existed till now. including the bastard who are ruling our ass ,then He is a bastard!!

If God does intend to literally let those who are ruling the world , let the arab leaders in particular , let evey person who raped another , let every person who harmed a baby , go with out burning in hell then he’s a sick, sick bastard. He shouldn’t have made this idea of the bads and the goods in the first place. And I would rather see those burning in hell than seeing their souls living ever after in the sky.

Talking theology is endless and it leads nowhere. I’m sure you’ve been through this exercise before…. different holy books, apparent inconsistencies within each holy book, word-by-word versus esoteric reading of the same book …
You are more than intelligent enough to formulate your own understanding of hell based on your own understanding of God.
The closest interpretation to my liking from a mainstream religious figure was in 1999 by the late Pope Jean Paul:
Heaven was “neither an abstraction nor a physical place in the clouds, but that fullness of communion with God which is the goal of human life.” Hell, by contrast, was “the ultimate consequence of sin itself . . . Rather than a place, Hell indicates the state of those who freely and definitively separate themselves from God, the source of all life and joy”.
Unfortunately, the current pope, is more a believer in the classic “hell is where evil sinners burn in fire”

All things considered, the ant did burn in hell. We’ve managed to turn the earth into a living hell for the entire planet, and for each other included. Man is egoistic enough to think that he is even worth a “hell” preserved only for him, and him alone.
